As an author in Maine, I'm taking my love of literature and miniatures and morphing it into a new creative enterprise. Having traveled to Ireland twice in the last three years in search of origin stories on selkies and fairies,  I make "Wee Folk" fairy dresses  from natural elements from the woods and sea. I also make miniature paper dresses from classic short stories and iconic  novels as well as  literary shadow boxes featuring scenes from the lives of famous authors.

Kay Stephens is the author of The Ghost Trap, an award-winning novel about a lobsterman struggling with the grinding responsibilities of a head-injured fiancee and mounting trap wars (Leapfrog Press, 2009).

Tonic of the Woods is her side gig, using a whole different side of creativity to explore the literary world through miniature book arts and natural materials.
